Gwangyang Children's Meal Support Center, COVID-19 Overcoming Program 'Positive Response'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Gwangyang City Child Meal Management Support Center (Director Professor Park Yang-won of Dongshin University) announced on the 15th that it conducted various programs aimed at overcoming COVID-19 for parents, children, and directors and cooks of child meal service facilities.
The Gwangyang Child Meal Management Support Center is commissioned and operated by the Department of Food and Nutrition at Dongshin University.
The center held ‘COVID-19 Overcome Stay-at-Home Event’ and ‘COVID-19 Overcome Stay-at-Home Challenge’ targeting caregiving families, receiving great responses from parents.
Additionally, during the emergency childcare period, the center produced and distributed a nutrition and hygiene activity booklet titled ‘Overcoming COVID-19 Together! Strong, Growing, Healthy Children’ to 5,500 children to support nutrition and hygiene education at home.
Earlier, on the 11th and 12th, the center provided 149 child meal service facilities with ‘Hygiene Reinforcement Kits’ containing sterilizing wipes, wireless refrigerator/freezer thermometers, rubber gloves for different purposes, and five types of food ingredient record sheets.
They also produced and distributed a ‘Self-Inspection Checklist’ and a ‘Non-Face-to-Face Hygiene Management Manual’ to fill gaps in hygiene management.
Furthermore, to encourage participation in non-face-to-face hygiene management, the center is conducting a ‘COVID-19 Response Non-Face-to-Face Hygiene Management Program.’
