Calligraphy Artist Jin Seong-yeong Presents Memorial Artwork for Former President Roh Moo-hyun's 11th Anniversary
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seoksan Jin Seong-yeong (Special Cultural and Arts Committee member of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation), a calligraphy artist, unveiled a memorial work ahead of the 11th anniversary of former President Roh Moo-hyun's passing.
Jin's latest work is themed "A humble person creates a strong country with modest power."
Since writing the font for the 'Mudeungsan Roh Moo-hyun Road' signstone in Gwangju in November 2016, Jin has had a special connection with the late president.
Marking the fourth year of the memorial ceremony, Jin is presenting calligraphy memorial works timed to the occasion.
The photo included with the calligraphy shows former President Roh during his term in 2008, at a tree-planting event in Bongha Village on Arbor Day, briefly closing his eyes and smiling faintly while tasting food during a break.
Jin reportedly chose this photo because the former president was perceived as the most humane and humble figure among people.
