LGU+ Golf, Exclusive Broadcast of KLPGA Championship Matches
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus announced on the 14th that it will exclusively broadcast the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour’s first tournament since the COVID-19 pandemic, the ‘KLPGA Championship,’ live on ‘U+ Golf.’
The KLPGA Championship is the first major professional golf tour worldwide to resume after the COVID-19 outbreak and will be held over four days starting from the 14th. To allow domestic golf fans eagerly awaiting the opening to enjoy players’ swings longer from the comfort of their homes, U+ Golf has moved up its broadcast time from the usual 12 PM to 11 AM on the 14th to 16th, and to 10 AM on the 17th for the finals, providing live coverage of all matches involving the two most popular groups of players.
The KLPGA Championship features a large number of popular players active both domestically and internationally, including Park Sung-hyun, Lee Bo-mi, and Lee Jeong-eun 6, with exclusive coverage on U+ Golf allowing viewers to watch matches by individual players. Additionally, the ‘real-time chat’ feature lets fans enjoy cheering together and interacting with commentators from anywhere they watch U+ Golf, whether at home or on the subway.
For U+ 5G customers, specialized 5G features such as ‘5G Swing Close-up Video,’ which allows viewers to replay players’ swings as they wish, and ‘5G Course 3D Broadcast,’ which provides a three-dimensional graphic overview of popular players’ course-by-course performance, offer a more vivid golf viewing experience than being at the venue. U+ Golf can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and One Store regardless of the subscriber’s telecom provider.
