Boseong-gun Selected for Cultural Empathy Contest Project... Receives 230 Million KRW in Funding
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yongcheol] Boseong-gun Cultural and Arts Center announced on the 13th that it will receive a total of 227.34 million KRW in support across three categories by attracting excellent performance programs from national and public art groups as well as private art groups in the ‘2020 Culture Sharing Project with Arts Centers Across the Country’ and being selected for the arts center’s planned production programs.
Through this selection, Boseong-gun plans to present a total of five diverse works, enabling local residents to enjoy the benefits of high-quality cultural life.
The performances include the musical ▲Kim Kwang-seok Musical Where the Wind Blows, singing the precious masterpieces of the late Kim Kwang-seok (July 16 and July 17), and ▲Musical, Falling into Jazz (August 20), featuring top musical actors such as Jeon Su-kyung and Lee Ji-hoon along with a skilled jazz band.
Also featured are ▲Hello! Opera The Barber of Seville (August 28), a reimagined version of the world-renowned opera; ▲Visiting Bullfighting Arena: The Woo Wang Jeon (November 26), a creative traditional performance expressing Korea’s traditional bullfighting game through tal (mask) play; and ▲Boseong’s Birthday Operation Part 2 (November 5, 6, 7), a creative musical drama planned by the arts center and performed with artists from the Boseong area.
The ‘2020 Culture Sharing Project with Arts Centers Across the Country’ is hosted and organized by the Korea Arts & Culture Centers Association and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Council to help reduce cultural disparities between regions and revitalize arts centers, allowing all citizens to enjoy the joy of art and happiness through culture.
