Ha Tae-kyung Targets Kim Du-kwan Who Defended Yoon Mi-hyang, Saying "They Are Being Slandered by Pro-Japanese Forces' Offensive"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Kim Du-gwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, defended Yoon Mi-hyang, the elected member of the Democratic Party for the People, who has been embroiled in controversy over sending her children abroad for study, while Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the United Future Party, criticized on the 13th, saying, "Since when did issues of accounting transparency become pro-Japanese?"
On the morning of the same day, Ha posted on his Facebook under the title "Former Minister of the Interior and Safety Kim Du-gwan, who says groups fighting Japan can commit accounting fraud."
He said, "The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Tax Service even found problems with the accounting transparency of the Justice Memory Solidarity, where Yoon was the chairperson, and requested additional document submissions," adding, "If we follow Kim's argument, then even the National Tax Service, which ordered a re-disclosure of accounting, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which demanded the submission of donation usage details, would be considered pro-Japanese forces."
He continued, "If there are no issues with Yoon and Justice Memory Solidarity regarding the suspicions, they should confidently submit documents and clarify. Also, if there were any mistakes, honestly admitting and restoring them is the duty of an institution operated with public support and taxes," and criticized, "Kim is condemning even the legitimate demands of the public and the media as an offensive by pro-Japanese forces."
The previous day, Kim posted on his Facebook a message titled "Supporting Justice Memory Solidarity and Yoon Mi-hyang," defending Yoon.
He said, "Using Grandma Lee Yong-soo's press conference as an excuse, conservative forces continue to attack Justice Memory Solidarity and Yoon," adding, "Without verifying facts, they continue to allege that donations were used to send children abroad for study and to embezzle public funds, and that they revealed the Japan-Korea comfort women agreement first."
Regarding the controversy over Yoon's children studying abroad, he pointed out, "Pro-Japanese, anti-human rights, and anti-peace forces are making their final offensive," and said, "It seems that the United Future Party, which made the humiliating Japan-Korea comfort women agreement, pro-Japanese media that sided with Japanese imperialism and militarism, and pro-Japanese scholars who claim 'comfort women were prostitutes' have all been mobilized."
