Koscom Develops 'Public Cloud Platform' Related to Public Delivery Apps
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Koscom announced that it is developing a public cloud (KPaaS-TA platform) platform to enable public delivery apps to be created more easily and quickly.
KPaaS-TA is a service-type platform of an open PaaS built and operated by Koscom, allowing venture companies and small business owners to provide services (SaaS, Software as a Service) more quickly and easily on the platform provided by Koscom.
The platform is being developed in collaboration with Gwanak-gu by (Ju) Misikuisidae, a company spun off from Koscom’s in-house venture.
Public delivery apps are services that local governments are promoting as key projects to curb the monopolistic and oligopolistic positions of existing delivery apps. Currently, dozens of local governments nationwide, including Gyeonggi-do, are reviewing their adoption. The service links a simple payment service called 'CrewPay,' which supports various local currencies, with a personalized food recommendation service that analyzes individual preferences.
Currently, the Gwanak-gu Small Business Association and Misikuisidae have formed a consortium and are preparing a Gwanak-gu exclusive public delivery app aiming for launch next month. The consortium plans to gradually expand the service area.
Since it is built as a public cloud service, small business owners and local governments only need to pay for what they use, which is expected to reduce costs.
