The Shoulders of Citizens Hunched by COVID-19 Fully Unfold Again in the Square
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jogok-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it will resume the plaza aerobics class, which had been temporarily suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.
As the COVID-19 response guidelines shifted to ‘social distancing in daily life,’ the program suspension that had been in place since February was lifted, and outdoor programs will resume after 89 days.
This aerobics program will be held five times a week at the Jogok-dong Administrative Welfare Center plaza with support from the Suncheon City Sports Council.
Yu Kyung-sook, president of the Suncheon City Aerobics Association who directly leads the Jogok-dong plaza aerobics, stated, “With the operation of Jogok-dong aerobics, the plaza aerobics will be widely promoted, and the Suncheon City Sports Council will support efforts to enhance residents’ health and vitality of life.”
Residents participating in aerobics said, “Due to social distancing, we refrained from going out, but after doing aerobics for the first time in a while, we met neighbors and feel refreshed.”
Son Han-gi, head of Jogok-dong, said, “Until the COVID-19 situation is resolved, I urge everyone to follow the social distancing guidelines such as self-disinfection with hand sanitizer and maintaining personal distance (1?2 meters), but I also encourage active participation in daily exercise to help residents regain a healthy daily life.”
