Yeonggwang-gun Holds 2020 Yeonggwang Agricultural College Entrance Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seongseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 12th that it held the ‘13th Yeonggwang Agricultural University Entrance Ceremony,’ which had been postponed due to COVID-19, at the Agricultural Technology Center Education Hall on the 11th.
The entrance ceremony was conducted in an orderly manner while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines such as disinfecting the education hall, temperature checks, hand sanitization, wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Yeonggwang Agricultural University contributes to the future development of agriculture by fostering specialized agricultural personnel necessary for developing new income crops and producing high-quality agricultural products, thereby creating high added value in agriculture and increasing farm income.
In addition, a basic plan has been established and implemented annually to reflect agricultural conditions and the needs of farmers.
This year, the strawberry and Hanwoo (Korean beef) classes were opened to promote the county’s representative regional specialty crops, inviting expert instructors for specialized theory, field, and practical training. The courses will be conducted once a week for a total of 20 sessions, totaling 86 hours of instruction.
