View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] As the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) originating from Itaewon clubs in Seoul continues to spread, a COVID-19 confirmed case related to the Itaewon clubs has also been reported in Jeonbuk Province. This is the 20th confirmed case in the province.
According to Jeonbuk Province on the 12th, public health officer A (33) was confirmed positive for COVID-19 at around 3:20 a.m. that day.
A, who had provided medical support in the Daegu area from the 6th to the 19th of last month, was confirmed to have visited an Itaewon club on Children's Day, May 5th, immediately after being released from self-quarantine.
A voluntarily reported to health authorities and tested positive for COVID-19.
On the following day, May 6th, A went to work at a screening clinic in the Gimje area and is understood to have treated about 30 patients over three days starting from May 7th. A’s actual residence is in Seoul, and it was found that A had been living alone in a government dormitory in Gimje.
A is currently receiving isolated treatment at Wonkwang University Hospital.
