[Asia Economy, reporter Cho Hyunui] On May 12, GC Green Cross MS announced that its Eumseong Plant 2, the largest hemodialysis solution factory in Korea, will begin operations at the end of this month.

According to GC Green Cross MS, Eumseong Plant 2 recently received Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification and is set to commence its first production at the end of this month.

Constructed with an investment of approximately 26 billion KRW in the Jincheon-Eumseong Innovation Complex in North Chungcheong Province, Eumseong Plant 2 is the largest facility in Korea dedicated to manufacturing hemodialysis solutions. The plant covers a land area of about 22,000 square meters and has an annual production capacity of 4.1 million units of hemodialysis solution, which is three times the capacity of the existing Yongin plant.

Eumseong Plant 2 has fully automated all processes, from raw material transfer and manufacturing to packaging and warehouse storage. In particular, the plant uses a Building Management System (BMS) to control and optimize HVAC and ventilation systems, maintaining optimal conditions. It also automatically manages the entire process from product receipt to shipment. The introduction of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for quality control has significantly reduced costs and greatly improved production efficiency.

An Eunok, CEO of GC Green Cross MS, stated, "Eumseong Plant 2 was designed as a foundation for future expansion into an integrated production base, concentrating the core competencies of our diagnostics business, based on GC Green Cross MS's open innovation strategy." He added, "We plan to further develop it into an integrated factory that comprehensively covers our diagnostics business, including point-of-care testing (POCT) in the future."
