Sejong-si, Partial Opening of Complex Community Centers with Transition to 'Everyday Quarantine'
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced on the 12th that, following the government's recent transition from high-intensity social distancing to 'everyday distancing,' it has established a comprehensive plan for the overall operation of facilities such as complex community centers and resident autonomy programs, and decided to partially open some facilities.
According to the comprehensive plan, since the day before, the city has opened small spaces such as meeting rooms in complex community centers and cultural houses on the condition of complying with everyday distancing guidelines. Additionally, library reading rooms have also started limited openings for book lending.
However, the city explained that these facilities will not be open during nights and weekends for the time being, and use of facilities and programs where 2-meter distancing is impossible or where many droplets are generated will be restricted.
The resident autonomy programs for the first half of the year will be concluded at this point, and the second half programs are planned to operate starting in August.
As for sports facilities, since it is difficult to comply with everyday quarantine standards such as wearing masks and maintaining 2-meter distancing, additional openings will be considered in the future based on the trend of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and feedback collection.
Furthermore, child and elderly welfare facilities will decide on reopening according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and after-school programs operated by the Happiness Education Support Center for elementary school students will be run in accordance with the elementary school attendance schedule.
