Government Provides Opportunities for Domestic Edutech Companies to Expand Overseas
Opportunity to Participate in the E-Learning Globalization Project for 2 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The government has decided to provide overseas expansion opportunities to domestic edutech companies that demonstrated capabilities in remote classes for elementary, middle, and high schools conducted due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Education announced on the 11th that from this year, outstanding domestic edutech companies will participate in overseas teacher training, which is part of the 'E-learning Globalization Project.'
The E-learning Globalization Project is a program that transfers domestic education sector information and communication technology (ICT) to partner countries and facilitates exchange through training for domestic and international teachers and policymakers.
About 10 edutech companies, finally selected through a public contest, will become the 'LEAD (Leading Educators for Achieving e-learning Development) Innovation Group' for the next two years. They will have opportunities to introduce their products as 'LEAD items' during teacher training sessions in the Ministry of Education's E-learning Globalization Project partner countries.
The public contest will be held from the 13th to the 26th of this month. After the selection evaluation, the final results will be announced around mid-June. The selection evaluation will consider the company's vision and commitment to social contribution, excellence of products and services, applicability in educational settings, and sustainability. Companies with awards in edutech or e-learning related competitions will receive additional points.
