Daegu City Issues 2-Week 'Gathering Ban' Administrative Order on Entertainment Venues, Clubs, and Collatecs
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] On the 11th, Daegu City issued an emergency administrative order to ban gatherings for two weeks at entertainment establishments, clubs, and colatecs in the city.
Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin held an emergency press conference on the day and stated, "Visitors to the Itaewon clubs in Seoul have been continuously identified in Daegu, and it is judged that there is a possibility of community transmission caused by them. Therefore, we have inevitably issued an administrative order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases."
The administrative order applies to 34 clubs and 34 colatecs in Daegu city, as well as 1,369 places including room salons and entertainment bars. Without any grace period, business operations are prohibited for two weeks from today until the 24th.
Mayor Kwon emphasized, "Daegu has endured harsh sacrifices over the past few months due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). We sincerely hope to return to normal life without further spread."
