Dongdaemun-gu Distributes Transparent Hygiene Masks to All Food Service Establishments
5388 Local General and Snack Restaurants, Bakeries, etc. Targeted... 3 Items per Establishment
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is taking steps to create a safer dining environment amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The district plans to provide 'transparent hygiene masks' to 5,388 food service establishments in the area, including general and casual restaurants as well as bakeries. This measure aims to ensure stricter food hygiene within the district in line with the recently implemented 'social distancing in daily life' guidelines.
The 'transparent hygiene mask' effectively prevents droplets generated during conversations, coughing, or sneezing from contaminating food, thereby helping to prevent infections from viruses and pathogens such as COVID-19.
Additionally, unlike disposable masks, these masks can be reused after simple washing with water.
The district will purchase approximately 16,000 'transparent hygiene masks' this month and distribute three masks per food service establishment.
Furthermore, stickers bearing the phrase "Let's overcome COVID-19 together!" will be attached to the packaging to convey hope to business owners.
