Seongnam City Conducts 'Intensive Inspection' of 315 Entertainment Venues Including 8 Clubs
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is significantly strengthening its supervision and inspection of 315 entertainment establishments, including 8 clubs within the jurisdiction.
Earlier, the Central Countermeasures Headquarters announced that starting from 8 PM on the 8th, an administrative order to refrain from operating clubs and entertainment facilities nationwide will be enforced for one month.
Accordingly, Seongnam City will focus on inspecting compliance with additional quarantine guidelines, such as designating quarantine managers within entertainment facilities and requiring all employees and users to wear masks except when consuming food.
In particular, this inspection will impose penalties for violations during on-site inspections (fines up to 3 million KRW), and in cases of confirmed infections, claims for damages (subrogation rights) including hospitalization, treatment, and quarantine costs will be pursued. Facilities operating without adhering to quarantine guidelines will be subject to administrative orders prohibiting gatherings.
To this end, the city has formed a dedicated team of 12 members divided into 3 groups. Joint inspections will continue until the 7th of next month.
