Japan Reports 114 New COVID-19 Cases... Rising to 100s After Three Days (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] In Japan, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has returned to the 100s after three days.
Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported on the 10th that 114 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed as of the 9th. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Japan, including 712 passengers from the cruise ship "Diamond Princess," has increased to 16,489.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Japan fell below 100 on the 7th and 8th but recovered to around 100 again the previous day.
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 18, bringing the total to 637.
The area with the highest number of confirmed cases in Japan is Tokyo, with 4,846 cases, followed by Osaka (1,732), Kanagawa Prefecture (1,156), and Saitama Prefecture (959).
