Netmarble to Resume Normal Work from the 11th... Game Industry Gradually Returning to Normal
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The gaming industry, which had shifted to a work-from-home system due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), is gradually returning to normal.
Netmarble announced on the 7th, "The three-day-a-week attendance system implemented to participate in overcoming the COVID-19 crisis will be changed to a full attendance system for all employees starting from the 11th."
Netmarble started work-from-home on February 27, during the COVID-19 outbreak, and from last month’s 20th, operated a system of three days at the office and two days working from home. Even after switching to the full attendance system, Netmarble will continue to allow pregnant employees and those with symptoms such as a fever above 37.5 degrees Celsius or sore throat to work from home.
A Netmarble official said, "We will continue to implement strong preventive measures to ensure safe commuting and a safe working environment for our employees."
NCSoft employees have been returning to normal attendance since the 4th. NCSoft implemented company-wide paid special leave from February 27 to March 6. After that, starting March 9, they adopted a rotating work-from-home system and maintained a four-day workweek throughout April.
