A care worker from Euncheonjae Support Center in Dongdaemun-gu is visiting a senior living alone in Dapsimni 1-dong on the 7th to pin a carnation on them.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) delivered carnations and sponsored goods to 1,600 elderly people living alone in celebration of Parents' Day.
Care workers from the Dongdaemun Senior Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Woori Sarang Home Care Support Center, and Euncheon Home Care Support Center personally visited 1,200 elderly people using the customized elderly care service to deliver sponsored goods and pin carnations on them.
For 400 elderly people who are receiving substitute meals due to being unable to use senior meal centers because of COVID-19, carnations were also delivered along with the substitute meals.
Elderly people who had been unable to go out for a long time and had been living in loneliness due to COVID-19 spent joyful time with the visiting care workers on Parents' Day.
Additionally, Dongbu Municipal Hospital located in the area also participated. Dongbu Municipal Hospital delivered meal kits (ingredients, scorched rice, instant cooked rice, beverages, etc.) along with carnations to 80 elderly people who can have simple meals.
