Models dressed in outfits that complemented Velvet's colors walked the runway holding the Velvet. The event was based on the idea that a smartphone can go beyond being a simple IT device to become a 'fashion item' that expresses oneself.
On the 7th, LG Electronics held the LG Velvet online launch show styled as a fashion show. A model wearing a white jacket and skirt that change color depending on the light posed with the 'Aurora White' Velvet, showcasing the raindrop camera and the color-changing feature. A male model in a pink jacket walked alongside the Illusion Sunset color model, acting as if taking a call. Drones carrying LG Velvet phones in four different colors flew around with the models.

Unlike usual launch events that focus on smartphone functions, this event emphasized design and color. Stylist Han Hye-yeon explained, "Now smartphones have become tools to express oneself, like clothes, bags, or accessories?a kind of fashion item. The design and the lifestyle and image presented by the brand have become as important as the product's performance."
Han Hye-yeon said, "In response to this change, LG Electronics wanted to communicate with customers in a way different from existing smartphones. They needed a program that could present the product concept, design value, and lifestyle as important tools for self-expression, and I agreed with LG Electronics' new brand strategy, which led me to participate in the project."
She added, "Above all, the biggest reason I participated in the project was because I liked the design of the LG Velvet. When you look at works by world-class artists, you can feel the essence in the 'details,' and details come down to a fine line. Velvet embodies a premium style that shows the newly changed face of LG," she explained.
Stylist Han Hye-yeon styled the outfits of the models appearing in the fashion show according to the Velvet's colors and design. She said, "Color plays the role of 'impact' in fashion and design, and Velvet shows a subtle glow depending on the angle, giving a mysteriousness not seen in existing smartphones. Aurora White represents purity and sublimity; Illusion Sunset color conveys liveliness and overflowing energy; Aurora Green embodies harmony and stability; and Aurora Gray gives an identity of seriousness and honesty."
Influencers Get Early Look at Velvet... Large Screen Fits in One Hand, Optimized for Video
The strengths of the LG Velvet are its slim design that allows easy one-handed use despite the large screen and features optimized for video production. YouTubers The Edit and Youngguknamja introduced the features of the LG Velvet.
Youngguknamja, a YouTuber with 3.84 million subscribers, released a video of Tanghulu cooking filmed with the Velvet. He said, "Large-screen smartphones are generally too wide to hold with one hand and hard to type on, but the LG Velvet is very comfortable to operate with one hand despite its generously large screen." He introduced, "It supports excellent time-lapse (fast video shooting) up to 60 times and includes the popular 'ASMR' feature on YouTube."
The Edit, a review-focused media outlet and YouTube channel, said, "The design is simple, but the curves and colors are vivid, and it has a sleek design without a camera bump." They added, "It includes features that allow people unfamiliar with video editing or without equipment to create decent videos." The LG Velvet offers features such as 'Voice Out Focus,' which distinguishes background noise from voice, 'Time Lapse' for compressing recorded videos, and ASMR recording functionality.

LG Electronics will begin pre-orders for the LG Velvet on the 8th through the three major mobile carriers, LG Electronics' website, Coupang, and others, with a domestic release on the 15th. The LG Velvet features a 6.8-inch large screen but has a slim design with a width of 74.1mm and a thickness of 7.8mm. The rear camera is arranged vertically like a raindrop, with the main camera boasting 48 million pixels. The front and rear edges are gently curved left and right, providing a comfortable grip. Dual Screen and Active Pen accessories are supported but sold separately. The Velvet's retail price is 899,800 KRW.
