United Future Party, Mutual Leading Debate Among Floor Leader Candidates for Verification: "Will Be More Active Than the Ruling Party"
[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kim Hye-min] The United Future Party will convey the candidates' visions through a mutually led debate among floor leader candidates on the 8th.
Park Seong-jung, the election management committee chairman, said to reporters after the committee meeting on the 6th, "It will be much more active than the ruling party."
Chairman Park explained, "This time, we will uniquely hold a mutually led debate," adding, "We will allocate ample time so that the candidates' competitiveness can be fully revealed. Afterwards, while having lunch boxes, we will take spontaneous questions on-site and ask both sides. We will put the on-site spontaneous questions into a box and ask them to two teams if there are two teams, or three teams if there are three."

Earlier, first-term lawmakers proposed a 'final debate' for the floor leader candidates, but their demands will also be incorporated into this plan. Chairman Park said, "The final debate might be interesting as an overall format, but it is sufficiently reflected here," and added, "We will allocate 30 minutes for the mutually led debate and about 10 spontaneous questions on-site, so I want to say that it has been fully considered." The candidate debate is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and the vote is scheduled for 3 p.m.
