[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 6th, Busan City and the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the 'Busan City-Busan Chamber of Commerce Economic Issue Meeting to Overcome the Novel Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19)' at the Busan Chamber of Commerce Hall and discussed joint cooperation plans to promote local issues in preparation for the post-COVID era and to expand the competitiveness of key industries.
The meeting was attended by Byun Seong-wan, Acting Mayor of Busan, Park Seong-hoon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, key executives of Busan City, and 50 local businesspeople including Heo Yong-do, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Heo Yong-do, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "We ask Busan City to make greater efforts so that local issues such as the construction of the Southeast Gateway Airport and the attraction of a complex resort can proceed without setbacks," and added, "The local business community will also spare no effort in active communication and support."
Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan stated, "If the city and the local business community unite as policy partners for economic development, the current crisis will become an opportunity," and said, "We will continue a closer cooperation system so that communication with businesspeople can be the foundation for the leap of Busan's economy."

Meanwhile, local businesspeople including the Busan Chamber of Commerce plan to express gratitude to quarantine authorities and medical staff who devoted themselves to preventing the spread of COVID-19 and to deliver local company products to about 1,500 local medical personnel who participated in COVID-19 testing.
