View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Amid rising criticism against Tae Young-ho, a member-elect of the United Future Party, and Ji Seong-ho, a member-elect of the Future Korea Party, who raised suspicions such as North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un's 'personal abnormality rumors,' former Saenuri Party lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok criticized, "The Moon Jae-in administration was more often wrong (regarding North Korean developments)." Former United Future Party lawmaker Cha Myung-jin also argued that having suspicions about Kim Jong-un's disappearance is not problematic.
In a post on her blog on the 2nd, former lawmaker Jeon said, "Tae and Ji members-elect did nothing wrong," adding, "The circumstances were clearly very suspicious."
She continued, "I also thought that Kim Jong-un must have had some mishap," and claimed, "It could be that he had a stroke and appeared as if nothing was wrong after '20 days of treatment.'"
Former lawmaker Jeon said, "There are many who are as happy that Kim Jong-un survived as those who were happy that his late father survived," adding, "The Blue House and Park Beom-gye, a Democratic Party lawmaker, warned Tae and Ji members-elect not to act rashly, and hardcore Moon Jae-in supporters (called 'Dkkae-moon') were about to hold a celebration in Gwanghwamun, waving flower stamens as if celebrating his survival."
She also criticized, "Who was more wrong, member-elect Tae or the Moon Jae-in administration? During last year's Hanoi summit, the Blue House said, 'Kim Jong-un will give up nuclear weapons and accept U.S. regime guarantees,' while member-elect Tae said, 'North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons.' Even simple arithmetic shows the Moon administration was more often wrong."
North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un, who had been surrounded by rumors of death, resumed public activities after 20 days, demonstrating his vitality. It is rather strange if someone does not have suspicions about the 20-day disappearance of a supposedly infallible, living god."
He continued, "Kim Jong-un is an enemy leader," and emphasized, "If you are a citizen of the Republic of Korea, it is natural to be anxious and look for his whereabouts. The Moon administration should not say, 'Was I right?' but should reveal what Kim Jong-un was doing while hiding for 20 days."
Earlier, the two members-elect raised suspicions such as 'health abnormality rumors' and 'death rumors' as Kim continued his disappearance.
Member-elect Tae said in an interview with CNN on the 28th of last month that Kim was "unable to stand or walk properly on his own," and member-elect Ji said he was "99% certain of Kim Jong-un's death." However, Kim publicly appeared on the 2nd, demonstrating his well-being.
Meanwhile, on the 4th, member-elect Tae apologized for his remarks about Kim Jong-un's 'health abnormality rumors.' In a statement that day, Tae said, "After Kim Jong-un's appearance, I received many criticisms over the past two days and deeply realized the impact of my words. Regardless of the reason, I apologize to the people."
He added, "I know one of the reasons I was chosen as a member of the National Assembly was the expectation for accurate analysis and prognosis regarding North Korean issues. The greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment," and said, "I deeply feel the people's criticism and heavy responsibility. I promise to conduct more cautious and humble legislative activities moving forward."
The Democratic Party urged the United Future Party to take action against the two members-elect. On the 4th, Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan said at the Supreme Council meeting, "The reckless reactions to Chairman Kim Jong-un over the past few days and some media reports are deplorable," adding, "The public is very concerned that such deplorable situations are still ongoing. The party will actively respond going forward."
Supreme Council member Seol Hoon emphasized, "The United Future Party must take a clear stance such as disciplinary procedures against the two members-elect."
