Why Did Dongjak-gu Promote the Village Growth Project?
Progressing the Together in Action Project and Village Instructor Midpoint Project until December... Fostering Growth of Village Education Community through "Our Neighborhood Drawn by Masil Outings" and Village Education Project Performance Sharing Sessions
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) will promote the 2020 Dongjak Innovation Education District Village Growth Project until December.
This project aims to improve the qualitative growth of the village education community by discovering village resources and supporting programs for communication and capacity building among village participants. It is carried out through the ‘Haengdong Hamkke (Haengham) Project’ and the ‘Village Instructor Linkage (Majung) Project.’
First, the Haengham Project will be conducted from this month to December under the theme “Drawing Our Neighborhood through Masil Outings,” involving a total of 30 village residents from six zones?Noryangjin, Daebang, Sindaebang, Sangdo, Sadang, and Heukseok?as well as about 300 third-grade elementary school students and teachers.
Specifically, participants will explore areas near schools such as ▲history and culture ▲ecology and nature ▲universities and libraries to collect various materials. About 20 village subcommittee members from each zone will provide feedback to produce a neighborhood booklet and map.
Additionally, the Village Instructor Linkage Project is conducted as a ‘Village Instructor Network’ for village instructors participating in the Dongjak Innovation Education District to share the outcomes of village education projects and help understand village education initiatives.
In October, a presentation of results from the village instructor study group for convergent and complex development of village education content will be held, and in December, a performance sharing meeting of village education projects with participating village instructors from ‘The Village is the School’ will take place.
Yoon So-yeon, Director of the Education Policy Division, said, “Through this project, we expect the local education community to develop further by activating communication among residents,” and added, “We will continue to promote various projects for active educational activities of residents.”
