Kim Hyo-seok, Chairman of the Korea Petroleum Association, Passes Away
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kim Hyo-seok, chairman of the Korea Petroleum Association, passed away on the 2nd due to an illness. He was 72 years old.
Born in Jangseong, Jeollanam-do, Kim, who served as a member of the National Assembly from the 16th to the 18th sessions, held positions such as the Democratic Party floor leader and a Supreme Council member of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy. During the last presidential election, he also served as co-chairman of the Central Election Committee for presidential candidate Moon Jae-in. He was appointed chairman of the Korea Petroleum Association in November 2017.

The funeral is being held at Seoul St. Mary's Funeral Hall, with the funeral procession scheduled for 10:30 AM on the 4th. The burial site is Seoul Memorial Park Yongin Rodem Park.
