[Breaking] Wildfire in Goseong, Gangwon Spreading Due to Strong Winds... Fire Agency Issues Mobilization Order No. 2

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] At around 8:04 PM on the 1st, a fire broke out at a house in Dowon-ri, Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, and spread to a nearby mountain area, driven by strong winds.
Firefighting and forestry authorities have deployed 225 fire trucks and 606 personnel to extinguish the fire, but strong winds are making suppression efforts difficult.
Upon the outbreak of the fire, Goseong-gun issued a staff mobilization order and dispatched specialized wildfire suppression teams and other personnel to fight the fire. The Fire Agency declared Response Level 1 at 8:30 PM, followed by Response Level 2 at 9:30 PM, and as of 9:43 PM, issued Fire Mobilization Order No. 2.
Additionally, as the flames spread toward Hakya-ri near Dowon-ri, residents in the vicinity were urged to evacuate.

At the fire site, strong winds of approximately 6.3 m/s are blowing. A dry weather advisory is in effect across Gangwon-do, and in Goseong, where the fire started, as well as in Sokcho and Yangyang plains and the central mountainous areas of Gangwon, a strong wind advisory has also been issued.
