Mayor Park Won-soon Inspects Disinfection at Jamsil Baseball Stadium Ahead of Professional Baseball League Opening
On October 1st last year, at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Doosan Bears players, who secured the regular season championship in the 2019 KBO League game against NC Dinos, are bowing toward the stands.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that Mayor Park Won-soon visited Jamsil Baseball Stadium on the afternoon of the 1st to directly inspect the quarantine measures inside the stadium ahead of the opening of the '2020 Professional Baseball KBO League' on the 5th.
Mayor Park, together with Chung Un-chan, Commissioner of the KBO (Korea Baseball Organization), personally visited the cafeteria used by players and officials, as well as the press room, to check whether partitions have been installed between dining tables and if social distancing between seats is being properly maintained.
He also inspected whether players in training and umpires are following the manuals well and encouraged the officials.
The 2020 Professional Baseball KBO League, which had its opening delayed due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), will be held from Children's Day on the 5th of this month until November 2nd. Prior to the regular season, practice games without spectators and with only players participating have been held from the 21st of last month until today.
At this event, Mayor Park and Commissioner Chung will also sign an agreement for the successful hosting of the professional baseball regular season and for safe sports viewing by citizens.

Following this, the Seoul Metropolitan Government stated that they plan to hold a meeting with Ryu Dae-hwan, Secretary General of the KBO, Lee Kyu-hong, CEO of LG Sports representing the LG Twins based in Jamsil Baseball Stadium, and Jeon Poong, CEO of the Doosan Bears, to discuss the operation plans for professional baseball amid COVID-19 and preparations for the opening.
