Naver and Kakao to Resume Normal Commute Starting from the 11th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The portal industry, which had implemented a partial attendance system due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will return to normal work from May 11.
Naver announced on the 29th, "We plan to switch to a normal work system starting May 11."
Naver, which entered a work-from-home system at the end of February, implemented a partial attendance system from the 20th to the 29th. Employees were assigned specific days to come to the office, working in the office two days a week and from home three days a week. This system will be maintained until May 8.
Even after normal work resumes on May 11, shared spaces such as the first-floor cafe, library, and fitness center in the company building will remain closed until the end of May.
Some employees who have difficulty commuting, such as pregnant women, those with underlying conditions, and symptomatic individuals, will continue to work from home.
Kakao will also return to normal attendance from May 11. Kakao implemented full remote work for all employees starting February 26 due to the spread of COVID-19. From May 9, the system changed to one day in the office and four days working from home per week.
