Matthew Bourne's 'Swan Lake' at Home... LG Arts Center Launches Online Performance Service
Broadcast Every Friday at 8 PM Starting May 8
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] LG Arts Center is launching the LG Arts Center Digital Stage service 'CoM On (CoMPAS Online)' to bring world-class performances to audiences at home who cannot visit the venue due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). CoM On can be described as the online version of LG Arts Center's curated performance series CoMPAS (Contemporary Music & Performing Arts Season), which has introduced top-tier performances worldwide.
The service will begin on May 8 and will be available every Friday at 8 PM for two months through the LG Arts Center YouTube channel, Naver TV, LG Uplus U+tv, and U+tv Mobile.
On CoM On, audiences can enjoy representative works such as Matthew Bourne's and Crystal Pite's 'Swan Lake' and 'Betroffenheit,' which were scheduled to visit Korea this year. Additionally, premium videos of world-renowned artists' works such as Akram Khan's choreography 'Chotto Desh,' English National Ballet's 'Giselle,' Norwegian National Ballet's 'Swan Lake' choreographed by Alexander Ekman, and Hamburg Ballet's 'Nijinsky' choreographed by John Neumeier will be available.
For domestic performances, 'Mozart Exploration Life,' performed by Club M with commentary by reporter Seonghyun Kim and featuring Liberation Amalgamation (guests: Jinah Lee, Sangji Go), is a co-planned and produced performance with LG Uplus, offering VOD and VR filmed without an audience. The VR videos can be vividly viewed in 3D on U+VR.
Overseas performances can be watched for free for 24 hours, and domestic performances for 48 hours, and can also be viewed simultaneously on LG Uplus U+tv and U+tv Mobile.

LG Arts Center plans to add more CoM On lineups so that audiences can enjoy a wider variety of works through video. Currently, negotiations are underway with overseas groups such as Cirque Eloize and Preljocaj Ballet, which have performed on the LG Arts Center stage.
