View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The 'Unpaid Leave Rapid Support Program' will be implemented starting on the 27th. This is one of the large-scale 'Employment Stability Packages' introduced by the government in response to the employment shock caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Unpaid Leave Rapid Support Program is a project designed to assist workers facing financial difficulties due to unpaid leave caused by the COVID-19 crisis. It provides 500,000 KRW per person per month for up to three months. The project budget is 480 billion KRW, and the support target is 320,000 people. Although employers apply for the rapid support program, the support funds are paid directly to the workers.
The Unpaid Leave Rapid Support Program also supports companies that have taken one month of paid leave before entering unpaid leave. In industries designated as special employment support sectors due to concerns about a sharp decline in employment, support can be received without taking paid leave.
