Startup Festival 'ComeUp' YouTube... 24,200 Subscribers from 27 Countries
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 27th that the YouTube channel of the global startup festival 'COMEUP' has surpassed 24,200 subscribers from 27 countries.
Looking at the distribution of subscribers by country on the COMEUP YouTube channel (K-Startup Week COMEUP), 93.7% are overseas subscribers (6.3% are Korean subscribers), which is significant. The Ministry explained that this growth is a remarkable achievement compared to the YouTube channels of other global startup events.
COMEUP is a festival that promotes Korea's startup ecosystem worldwide and provides a platform for global startup stakeholders to interact and collaborate. It was held last November in Seoul and Busan through a joint effort between the private sector and the government. Before the event last year, the YouTube subscribers were only about 1,000, mostly domestic. However, as of the 24th of this month, five months after the event, the cumulative number of subscribers has greatly increased to 24,200.
The COMEUP YouTube channel offers content related to Korea's startup ecosystem to global subscribers, including 'Korean Startup Ecosystem: Present and Future 10 Years Ahead,' 'COMEUP 2019 Highlights,' and 'Lectures by Famous Startups and Venture Capitalists.'
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups especially expects that 'COMEUP 2020,' scheduled to be held this November at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, will be an opportunity to showcase Korean startups and venture companies that played a key role in overcoming COVID-19 to the world, as well as a cornerstone for the great transition to the digital economy.
