[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Jeongdong Theater announced on the 21st that the performance of 'Yang Jun-mo's Opera Date,' scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 1, will be held as a no-audience online live broadcast. This measure follows the government's decision on the 20th to extend the closure of national cultural and artistic facilities to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
'Yang Jun-mo's Opera Date' is a brunch concert at 11 a.m. newly introduced by Jeongdong Theater this year, presenting the somewhat unfamiliar genre of 'opera' to the public with explanations.
Musical actor Yang Jun-mo will host the event, planning to share conversations and performances on different themes with new guests each time. Four performances are scheduled for this year, with the first on May 1 themed 'Classics Encountered in Movies.' It will be a time to enjoy familiar opera, classical music, and memorable scenes from various films.
Baritone Yang Jun-mo, who shares the same name as actor Yang Jun-mo, and pianist Bang Eun-hyun will participate as guests. The host, musical actor and tenor Yang Jun-mo, and baritone Yang Jun-mo will perform a duet of 'Stars' from the musical 'Les Mis?rables.'
'Yang Jun-mo's Opera Date' will be live-streamed without an audience on Jeongdong Theater's YouTube channel at 11 a.m. on May 1, and a recorded broadcast will be aired on the Naver TV channel at 8 p.m. the same day.
