COVID-19 Patient Who Spat at Paramedic and Said "Drive Roughly" Indicted
[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] A man in his 20s who spat on a public official driving an ambulance while being transported to a hospital after testing positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been brought to trial.
On the 20th, the Women's and Violent Crimes Division of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office Western Branch (Chief Prosecutor Jaehyun Jung) indicted Mr. A (22) without detention on charges of obstruction of official duties and attempted injury.
Mr. A is accused of spitting on the ambulance driver after arriving at the hospital by ambulance for hospitalization following a positive COVID-19 diagnosis on the morning of February 28 and getting out of the vehicle.
He stated that he spat because he was angry that the victim was driving roughly.
