Millennium Symphony 'Koreans' Beloved Composer - Tchaikovsky' Performance
On the 8th of next month at Lotte Concert Hall
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Millennium Symphony Orchestra will perform "Russian Composers Loved by Koreans Series II - Tchaikovsky" at 7:30 PM on May 8th at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center.
This concert is organized to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Korea-Russia diplomatic relations and will present Tchaikovsky's works with high-quality performances.
The first part of the program features Tchaikovsky's "Violin Concerto" and "Piano Concerto No. 2."
Violinist Kim Dong-hyun will perform as a soloist in the Violin Concerto. Kim Dong-hyun is a next-generation violinist who gained international recognition by winning 3rd place at the 9th International Tchaikovsky Competition last year at the age of 19.
Russian pianist Ilya Rashkovsky will perform as a soloist in Piano Concerto No. 2. Rashkovsky has won top prizes at prestigious international competitions including 1st place at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, 2nd place at the Long-Thibaud-Crespin International Competition, 3rd place at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition, and 4th place at the Queen Elisabeth Competition. He is currently serving as an invited professor at the College of Music, Sungshin Women's University.
The second part of the program will feature the performance of "Piano Concerto No. 1." Russian pianist Peter Obzharov, who is a professor at Yonsei University College of Music, will perform as a soloist.
