[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Hae-chan, the Standing Election Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, targeted the United Future Party on the 13th, saying, "Just a week ago, they were boasting about securing a majority of seats, but these days they are kneeling and pleading."
On the morning of the same day, at the joint election committee meeting of the Democratic Party of Korea and the Together Citizens' Party held at candidate Kang Tae-woong's election office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Chairman Lee said, "Politics should not be disgraceful. Even if you lose, you should lose with dignity and follow the right path."
He continued, "Our party has walked the right path and acted with dignity this time," adding, "Among the 130 incumbent lawmakers of our party, there is no one who has disobeyed the party's nomination. All of them have accepted the party's nomination and are participating in the election campaign."
Chairman Lee also criticized, "The United Future Party is obstructing state affairs, but when the election becomes urgent, they resort to abusive language," and pointed out, "Even with the emergency disaster relief fund, they are acting completely like contrarians. It is unpredictable how they will behave after the general election."
He then proposed regarding the emergency disaster relief fund, "Let's provide the same emergency disaster relief fund to all citizens and handle the post-processing through negotiations between the ruling and opposition parties."
Meanwhile, Park Jumin, the Democratic Party candidate running in Eunpyeong-gap, Seoul, also mentioned Cha Myung-jin, the United Future Party candidate, criticizing, "The United Future Party, which nominated a candidate who repeatedly uses abusive language and is expected to continue doing so, will not be able to escape the people's punishment."
