Mudeungsan National Park East Office Conducts 'Safety Inspection' Ahead of Thawing Season
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] The Mudeungsan National Park East Office of the Korea National Park Service (Director Ju Hong-jun) announced on the 8th that it recently conducted a special safety inspection of dangerous sections along the trails within its jurisdiction, including steep slopes and fall-risk areas, in preparation for the spring thaw and safety diagnosis period.
This special safety inspection was carried out as a proactive measure to prevent safety accidents that may occur during the thaw period, amid a gradual increase in visitors seeking to relieve the frustrations of daily life accumulated due to the COVID-19 pandemic by engaging in park exploration activities.
Additionally, a self-inspection team was organized to focus on checking for abnormalities in multi-use facilities and structures within the park.
In particular, rockfall removal activities were conducted at two steep slope locations with high safety accident risks during the thaw period to ensure visitor safety in advance.
