"Reserve by Phone and Pick Up"… Milyang Library's 'Special Book Loan Service'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 8th that it is operating a 'Special Book Loan Service' to alleviate the inconvenience of citizens who cannot use the library due to the long-term closure of libraries caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Special Book Loan Service operated by Miryang City Library allows users to pick up reserved books at the library entrance after applying for a loan by phone. On the very first day of implementation, 150 users utilized this service.
Book loan reservations can be made from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except Mondays), with a maximum of 5 books per person (10 books for family members). Reserved books can be picked up and returned between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Hwang Won-cheol, Director of Miryang City Lifelong Learning Center, said, "We will minimize the gap in citizens' reading activities through the book loan service," adding, "We hope that during this difficult time for the entire nation, people will gain mental stability and courage through reading."
