Mackis Company Collaborates with Homeplus to Revitalize Local Economy
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Makgeolli Company, a leading liquor company in the Chungcheong region, is joining forces with Homeplus to revitalize the local economy.
According to Makgeolli Company on the 8th, the day before, Makgeolli Company and Homeplus signed a ‘Win-Win Project to Revitalize the Local Economy’ agreement.
Under the agreement, Homeplus will set up special displays at 11 stores in the Daejeon and Chungnam areas to hold a soju promotional event commemorating the launch of the new product ‘Lin21’. Additionally, Makgeolli Company plans to jointly donate 1% of the sales revenue of its products (including PET) sold at these stores to designated local organizations with Homeplus.
This project is planned and promoted based on the management philosophy of both companies to coexist with the local community. The purpose is to activate sales of products from companies operating locally, help increase sales, and return part of the profits gained to the local community.
Separately, Makgeolli Company is also running a ‘Local Love Scholarship Campaign,’ collecting sales revenue by saving 5 won per bottle of ‘Ijeurin’ soju sold, aiming to raise 4 billion won over 10 years to donate scholarships to the local community.
Kim Gyusik, CEO of Makgeolli Company, said, “We hope this project will become a pioneering model that benefits the local economy by fostering coexistence between local companies and large discount stores.”
