Mongolian International Student Arrested for Attempting to Steal Valuables by Breaking into Women's Dormitory Room in Gosiwon
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] A Mongolian international student who broke into a gosiwon room where women live to steal valuables was caught by the police.
The Gwangju Dongbu Police Station announced on the 7th that they have arrested and are investigating A (19), a Mongolian international student, on charges of robbery, injury, and nighttime residential intrusion.
A is suspected of consecutively breaking into four gosiwon rooms located in Dong-gu from around 4:15 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. that day.
He is also accused of assaulting victims who woke up after sensing his presence and fleeing the scene.
According to the police, A targeted the rooms of women living in the same gosiwon as himself.
A, who is enrolled at a comprehensive university in Gwangju, is believed to have committed the crimes to raise hospital fees for his family back home.
