View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Booyoung Group has launched disinfection support to create apartments safe from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Booyoung is currently undertaking COVID-19 disinfection by installing antibacterial films and hand sanitizers in over 110 apartment complexes nationwide managed by the company and 62 'Booyoung Sarangro Daycare Centers' within the complexes.
To alleviate residents' concerns about the possibility of infection through elevators, which are enclosed spaces frequently touched by many people, antibacterial films were attached to the elevators and shared entrance wall pads within the complexes. The total length of the antibacterial film used amounts to approximately 2,240 meters.
Antibacterial films containing copper components, which make it difficult for viruses and bacteria to survive, are known to be effective in blocking COVID-19, leading to an increase in cases where such films are attached to elevators. According to experiments published by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and others, the survival time of coronavirus on copper surfaces is 4 hours, which is shorter than on plastic (72 hours) and stainless steel (48 hours). This means that antibacterial films containing copper components can inhibit virus proliferation and shorten the survival time of viruses on surfaces.
Along with this, Booyoung also provided about 5,000 hand sanitizers to all elevators and 62 daycare centers within the complexes.
