Korea Maritime Promotion Corporation produced 1,300 hygiene kits consisting of masks and hand sanitizers to prevent COVID-19 infection among national seafarers and delivered them to the Korea Seafarers' Welfare and Employment Center.

On the 31st, the Maritime Promotion Corporation announced that as the COVID-19 crisis alert was raised to the 'serious' level and the situation prolonged, it produced hygiene kits for infection prevention and delivered them to Korean seafarers boarding ocean-going vessels.
The corporation produced 1,300 COVID-19 infection prevention hygiene kits consisting of three KF94 masks, hand sanitizer, and antibacterial tissues, and donated them to the Korea Seafarers Welfare Employment Center. The produced hygiene kits will be distributed to Korean seafarers boarding ocean-going vessels through the Korea Seafarers Welfare Employment Center.
This emergency support was carried out with the purpose of protecting the health of Korean seafarers who travel through major international and domestic ports and preventing the spread of infectious diseases to maintain a smooth cargo transportation system. Hwang Ho-seon, President of the Maritime Promotion Corporation, said, "We hope this will be of some help to the Korean seafarers who are quietly performing their duties at the heart of the field despite the COVID-19 situation."

Meanwhile, on the 12th, the corporation announced the 'COVID-19 Shipping Industry Support Measures.' These measures include policy and financial support in six areas such as emergency management funds worth 150 billion KRW for Korean ocean-going cargo ship operators including Korea-China and Korea-Japan ferry operators, port stevedores, ship finance refinancing guarantees, and deferral of principal and interest repayment for new purchase and re-chartering (S&LB) investments. In addition, the corporation plans to review additional response measures according to the situation depending on the spread of the crisis.
