Seoul Theater Opens Dedicated Venue for Diverse and Art Films
[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] Seoul Theater opened a dedicated screening room for independent and art films on the 30th. It is the recently renovated 54-seat screening room called 'Cinema Plus.' A theater official explained, "We have programmed independent and art films for a long time," and "a certain audience base has formed, so we prepared a dedicated theater." To commemorate the opening, Seoul Theater will hold themed exhibitions on various topics for three weeks in one-week units starting from the 11th of next month. The first theme is 'Dramas You Want to Meet Again.' Films such as 'Moonlight (2016),' 'Amour (2012),' 'Il Postino (1994),' 'Burnt by the Sun (2010),' 'Ida (2013),' and 'City of God (2002)' will be screened. Seoul Theater, which started in Jongno 3-ga in 1979, operates eight theaters (1,569 seats). Along with Daehan Theater, it continues the legacy of private theaters.
