Distribution of 100,000 Replaceable Filter Masks to Foreign Students and Workers in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 31st that it will provide 100,000 filter-replaceable masks to foreign students and uninsured foreigners who find it realistically difficult to obtain public masks.
Under the public mask 5-day rotation system, foreigners must present their Alien Registration Card and health insurance card to purchase masks. However, most students are either uninsured or face practical difficulties in purchasing masks due to language barriers and living conditions.
Accordingly, the city distributed filter-replaceable masks to 40 universities in Seoul and foreigner support facilities for foreign students and foreign workers who are in the blind spots of mask purchases.
Foreign students can receive filter-replaceable masks and five replacement filters through their affiliated universities, while foreign workers can obtain them through the Seoul Global Center, the Southwest Global Center, and six foreign worker centers.
