View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Choi Ki-young, Minister of Science and ICT, is brainstorming with heads of affiliated organizations to prepare for the post-pandemic situation following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 30th that Minister Choi will hold a video conference from 2 p.m. on the 30th with government COVID-19 response officials, including Yong Hong-taek, Director of the Research and Development Policy Office, and heads of five COVID-19 related institutions.
The meeting, titled "Science and Technology Community Meeting to Overcome the COVID-19 Crisis," was organized as an opportunity to "hear opinions on difficulties faced by the science and technology community and post-COVID response measures."
Discussions will focus on the current crisis in the science and technology sector, such as the contraction in research and development (R&D) investment, and will continue to devise proactive countermeasures for the post-COVID-19 era.

The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, "'Post-COVID-19' does not refer to the end of COVID-19 itself but rather to the overall R&D ecosystem that has been contracted due to COVID-19," adding, "This meeting aims to explore ways to improve the R&D environment that has been weakened by COVID-19."
