Gyeonggi-do Provides Up to 2 Million KRW Support to Flower Farms Affected by COVID-19
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will support agricultural materials such as seedling soil and seedling trays for flower cultivation farmers who are struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The support target is limited to farmers residing in Gyeonggi Province who cultivate flowers on farmland within the province and have registered agricultural management entity information.
Applying farmers can receive up to 2 million KRW (50% self-payment) to purchase agricultural materials necessary for flower cultivation, such as seedling soil, flower pots, and seedling trays.
The total project budget is 4.6 billion KRW.

The province plans to receive applications through city and county offices this month, finalize project recipients, and start providing subsidies from next month. There are 2,285 flower cultivation households in the province, with a cultivation area of 938.6 hectares.
