Boseong-gun Urgently Allocates Additional 55.7 Billion Won Budget to Overcome COVID-19
Focused on Public Safety and Revitalizing the Local Economy
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that the first supplementary budget for 2020, amounting to 55.7 billion KRW and containing urgent response measures related to COVID-19, has been finalized after passing the approval of the Boseong County Council.
With this supplementary budget, the total budget size of Boseong County has reached 549 billion KRW, and it includes funds necessary for protecting residents' health and strengthening disaster response systems, earning it the evaluation as a "citizen safety" supplementary budget.
The main budget allocations include ▲14.4 billion KRW for COVID-19 overcoming projects to protect residents' health, ▲42.3 billion KRW for strengthening disaster response systems, ▲18.7 billion KRW for supporting the local economy through proactive economic measures, ▲89.1 billion KRW for job creation support and social safety net reinforcement to stabilize the livelihoods of low-income citizens facing difficulties amid uncertain economic conditions, ▲6.6 billion KRW to expand income bases for low-income groups, ▲1.8 billion KRW for youth employment projects, ▲300 million KRW for mask distribution projects for low-income groups, ▲17 billion KRW for agriculture, forestry, and marine fisheries sectors supporting farming and fishing industries, and ▲600 million KRW for public utility fee support as part of COVID-19 measures for small business owners.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong County, stated, "This supplementary budget was organized with a focus on protecting residents' health, proactive citizen safety response, and supporting the revitalization of the local economy," and added, "We will pay close attention to the early execution of the budget, which was organized by mobilizing all administrative power, so that residents can feel the economic stimulus."
