[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hyundai Merchant Marine is changing its company name to 'HMM' for the first time in 37 years. On the 27th, Hyundai Merchant Marine passed the amendment to the articles of incorporation regarding this change at the regular shareholders' meeting held at the Hyundai Group Building in Yeonji-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Founded as Asea Shipping in 1976, Hyundai Merchant Marine changed its name to 'Hyundai Merchant Marine' in 1983 and has maintained it for 37 years. HMM is the abbreviation of Hyundai Merchant Marine in English and was already included in the new corporate identity (CI) unveiled last May.
