Professor Choi Jung-woo of Mokwon University, General Manager of the '2040 Sejong Urban Master Plan'
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City has appointed Professor Choi Jung-woo of Mokwon University’s Department of Urban Engineering as the chief planner for the establishment of the ‘2040 Sejong Urban Master Plan.’
According to the city on the 27th, Professor Choi previously served as the chief planner for the Naepo New Town metropolitan urban plan. He is also recognized as an expert who has accumulated experience and know-how in urban planning, having worked as the chief planner for the Saemangeum Development Agency’s waterfront city project.
In particular, Professor Choi has been involved as a chief advisor since the early construction phase of Sejong City and has participated in the Sejong City and Happiness Agency’s urban planning committees, demonstrating a high level of understanding of the region, which makes him a suitable candidate for the chief planner position of the Sejong Urban Master Plan.
Following his appointment as chief planner, Professor Choi will serve as the overall coordinator and facilitator throughout the entire process of establishing the urban master plan, scheduled to begin in the second half of this year, enabling collaboration among citizens, experts, the city, and related organizations.
