[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] As two men in their 60s and 80s died in Daegu due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the total number of deaths in South Korea has risen to 136.
According to health authorities on the 26th, at around 3:40 PM, an 87-year-old man receiving COVID-19 treatment at Daegu Dongsan Hospital passed away.
This patient was confirmed positive during a COVID-19 screening test while hospitalized at Hansarang Nursing Hospital on the 17th, and was transferred to Dongsan Hospital two days later. He was known to have dementia, prostate cancer, and hypothyroidism.

At a similar time, around 3:30 PM on the same day, a 68-year-old man receiving inpatient treatment at Kyungpook National University Hospital died. This man was tested for COVID-19 at the screening clinic of Yeungnam University Hospital on the 25th of last month, was confirmed positive the next day, and was transferred to the emergency room of Kyungpook National University Hospital on the 29th. His underlying conditions included hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
