Anyang Citizens Receive 150,000 Won Per Person in Disaster Basic Income (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Anyang City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 26th that it will provide disaster basic income of 50,000 KRW per person to all citizens regardless of income or age.
As a result, Anyang citizens will receive a total of 150,000 KRW in disaster basic income, including the 100,000 KRW disaster basic income provided by Gyeonggi Province.
Anyang City will distribute the disaster basic income through the local currency "Anyang Sarang Gift Certificate," which must be used within 3 months. The required budget of 28.5 billion KRW will be covered by the city’s disaster management fund (totaling 35.8 billion KRW).
The support method involves visiting the local administrative welfare center and completing a simple identity verification process to receive the gift certificates. The city plans to finalize and notify citizens of the specific payment schedule and method soon.

Earlier, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it would provide 100,000 KRW in disaster basic income in local currency to 13.26 million residents. As of that day, the number of basic local governments supporting Gyeonggi Province’s disaster basic income payment increased to five, including Anyang City, Yeoju (100,000 KRW), Gwangmyeong (50,000 KRW), Icheon (150,000 KRW), and Gunpo (50,000 KRW).
