United Future Party Recruits Kim Jong-in as Election Committee Chairman
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party is recruiting former Democratic Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in as the head of the election countermeasures committee to oversee the general election.
Park Hyung-joon and Shin Se-don, co-chairs of the election committee, will hold a briefing at the National Assembly this morning to announce the recruitment of former chairman Kim.
The United Future Party has been making efforts to recruit former chairman Kim since last month, with Hwang Kyo-ahn, the party leader and overall head of the election committee, leading the efforts. Although the recruitment was once called off, discussions have continued behind the scenes.

Party leader Hwang is expected to hand over overall election management to former emergency committee chairman Kim and focus on the Seoul Jongno election in the future.
